Th1rteen R3asons Why

imageI have been wanting to read this book for years. My friends have been passing around our group since 8th grade. You see, our group is much like a book club. If one of us has a book someone else wants to read, we pass it around. It has been really amazing in the past, but every once in a while someone will forget to pass it on or just simply loose it in their room. This was the case for this book.

For Christmas, I received a 25 dollar gift card, so I bought the book.

It was a great read. I read it in a matter of hours. Its only about 300 pages and it takes place in one night.

“What is this book about?” You may be asking.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker–his classmate and crush–who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he’ll find out how he made the list.

                                                                                                  – Jay Asher (author)

Absolutely amazing.

Not for the depressed teens, nor those who are contemplating suicide! I’m very serious. I found myself very near tears many times.
